collaborative 26’X72’ mural organized by Chicago artist Anne Farley Gaines

This mural was partially funded by a 2012 Neighborhood
Arts Program Grant from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special
Events. There has been considerable
funding and in-kind donations from individuals and organizations, many of them
from the Pilsen and Little Village communities. All will be acknowledged at this event. Mexican hot chocolate and hot tamales

This event is also an opportunity to donate funding to
San Jose Obrero Mission, an organization that is committed to finding housing
and employment to all participants who reside at the Mission. There will be Christmas items for sale
produced by the participants with the help of Anne and volunteers. As stated in
the main lettering in the mural, “PROGRESS HAPPENS HERE/AQUI EL PROGRESO
OCURRE” – AT THE MISSION!
