Sandra Holubow received a best-of-show award for her collage oil painting Off the Beaten Track, below, at the Senior Artists Network 2010 members' exhibit at the South Shore Cultural Center.  Exhibit continues through April 8.  7059 South Shore Drive, Chicago.

George C. Clark has been invited to teach two workshops on creating miniature rustic twig furniture at this summer's Woodlanders Gathering, July 9-12,  at the Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts in Mineral Point, WI.

Amanda Ross-Ho's exhibit SOMEBODY STOP ME opens Thursday, April 1 at Mitchell-Innes & Nash Gallery in New York City.  Her show includes sculpture, photographs, paintings, and engages the gallery's architecture, as well, with the overall aim of dissolving distinctions between studio practice and public display.  This will be her first solo exhibit in New York, continuing through May 1.  Amanda lives in Los Angeles and  is the daughter of member Ruyell Ho.

Woman Made Gallery will host a reading for Women's History Month on Sunday, March 21, 2-4 PM.  Five women writers will read from their works; this is concurrent with the 13th International Open exhibit at the gallery.  Event is free.  685 N. Milwaukee.

Michelle Stone will participate in the upcoming all-media group exhibit New Noyes, at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes, Evanston, March 21-May 5.  Sarah Krepp, who facilitates group critique sessions for the thirty-two exhibiting artists, is the curator.  Reception is Sunday, March 21, 3-5PM.

Jackie Moses has 3-D work in Reliquaries, an exhibit in the 2nd floor gallery at the Fine Arts Building, 410 S. Michigan.  Opening reception:  5:30-8:30PM, Friday, April 9.

Fiber artist Kathy Weaver has a show opening April 9th, Terra Nano, at the Gordon Center for Integrative Science, University of Chicago, 929 E. 57th St.  The exhibit runs through June 11th.  Reception April 9, 6-8PM.

George C. Clark has an ink drawing in the exhibition Au Naturel:  The Nude in the 21st Century at the Art Center Gallery of Clatsop Community College in Astoria, Oregon.  The show runs February 25 - April 8.

Amanda Ross-Ho, daughter of member Ruyell Ho, has a solo show at the Pomona Museum of Art in Los Angeles, through April 11th.  She also has an upcoming show, opening April 1st, at Mitchell, Innes and Nash Gallery in New York City.

Opening March 5 at the Irish-American Heritage Center Gallery (ergo, this should be a wingding of an opening):  A Touch of the Poet.  Forty artists interpret the work of Irish poets, including Kim Laurel, Fletcher Hayes, Tom Robinson and James Mesple.  Reception is 6-9PM.  The exhibit runs through April 3.

Address:  4626 N. Knox, Chicago.  Gallery hours:  Sat. and Sun. 1 - 4PM.  (Fundraiser Sat. March 13, noon-6PM, $15.)

Summer will arrive some day, but March 1 is the deadline for applications to three outdoor art fairs:  Oswego (IL) Art Fair, August 21-22; Lakeview East Festival of the Arts, September 11-12; West End Arts Festival in LaGrange,  September 18-19.  The "common application" for these fairs can be found at  www.emevents.com, and images are accepted by email.  Contact Erin Melloy (emelloy@emevents.com) for questions.

Vicky Szilagyi heartily thanks all of us who contributed to a gift for her when she passed the ABG blog baton recently after two years on the job.  She very much appreciates the recognition.   Thanks to everyone who pitched in for the gift.

Alan Emerson Hicks hosts a figure drawing workshop in his studio (1800 W. Cuyler, in the JK Chicago first floor space) every Sunday, 11AM-2PM.  It's a bargain at $10 per session, and open to all artists.  Easels and horses are available; BYO drawing supplies.

Catherine Cajandig is participating in Drawing the Line, an exhibit by members of the Jewish Women Artists' Network, at the Beverly Art Center, through March 6.  2407 W. 111th St.  (http://www.beverlyartcenter.org)

Jennifer Scott has an exhibit Stories Behind the Post Cards - Jim Crow at Murphy Hill Gallery, 3333 W. Arthington.  Opening is February 27, 6-11PM; the show runs through April 3.

Dave Sheehan, David Gista and Todd Narbey are in a 3-person exhibit, War & Peace, at ThinkArt, 1530 N.
