Exhibit Your Work at the Cultural Center

Artists Reception & Traditional Cup Sale:  Sunday, April 27, 2014, 
Noon to 3 PM
Jurors: 
Leslie Wolfe, a found object fiber artist (recycle, repurpose, reinvent), is also director of the 
Old Town Art Center. Wolfe is represented by Roy Boyd Gallery, where she just exhibited a 
one-person show, "Purseverence." She has been invited to show work at Evanston's Noyes Cultural Arts Center in an exhibit in March. www.Lesliewolfe.com/
Eleanor Spiess-Ferris, described as a symbolist and surrealist figurative artist, is a longtime faculty member of the Evanston Art Center. She has won many grants and awards. Spiess-Ferris regularly exhibits her oil paintings through Packer Schopf Gallery and her gouaches through Printworks Gallery. She is currently exhibiting at the Hyde Park Art Center. www.Eleanorspiess-ferris.com/

Donation:  $15 per artist for refreshments, to Ruyell Ho,

Dates of Submission:   March 19 to March 28.



Submission Requirements: Up to 3 digital jpeg images to Peter Jones at artistsbreakfastgroup@gmail.com  One work per artist will be selected. Jpegs should be titled with artist’s name, entry number and title (if any). Example: Jones_Peter_1_Title.jpg

Delivery and Retrieval of Artwork



Location Drop Off:  Renaissance Court Gallery, Chicago Cultural Center Thursday, April 17, 10 AM - 3 PM. 



Retrieval: Monday, June 23, 10 AM – 3 PM

All works must be picked up on this date. There is no storage space!



Media requirements:



1. Work must meet professional framing standards, and be labeled, wired, and ready to hang  (no claw type hangers).



2. Free standing sculpture may not be larger than 24" in any direction. Artists must supply pedestals for sculpture entries. 



3.  We want a variety of sizes represented in this exhibit, but smaller pieces are preferred. Two-dimensional works larger than 36" on any side will only be accepted at the jurors discretion.



4. Only one work per artist will be selected.



5. ALL ARTISTS MUST MAKE A CUP!



If you have any questions about the exhibit, the art, or the cups, come to a Breakfast at S&G Restaurant, 3000 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago, Wednesdays, from 10 AM to noon.

A two person exhibition curated by Prof. Joyce Owens Anderson features
Chicago area artists: Alan Emerson Hicks and Kim Laurel.

Laurel's mixed media works on paper are from a continuing deconstructed kites series:
The Maquette Studies. Alan Emerson Hicks sculptures are constructed from recycled
found materials. This unique pairing of artists contrasts scale, materials, formalism
and spontaneous construction.

Sandra Holubow and Fred Holubow

Sandra Holubow and Fred Holubow have been invited to participate in "The Nature Project 2014 Exhibit" at the Brickton Art Center Gallery, 306 Busse Highway, Park Ridge, IL. Sandra has her work, "Nature's Community," in the show and Fred has his photograph, "The Cleaner," on exhibit. The curator is Judy Langston. A reception will be held Friday, March 7, from  - 7 - 9 PM. The show runs from March 7 to March 29. 847--823-6611

George Clark

Miniature twig chairs by George C. Clark displayed on a bookshelf

 
Miniature Rustic Twig Furniture by George C. Clark will be on exhibit and for sale at the ARTS GALA to be held Saturday evening March 1, 2014 from 6 to 10pm at the Irving Park United Methodist Church at the intersection of Grace Street and Keeler Avenue on the Northwest Side of Chicago.  Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children (with a $30 maximum for family groups).  In addition to an arts and crafts fair, there will be snacks and refreshments and continuous musical and theatrical entertainment in several different parts of the 3-story venue, which is located just a few blocks south and west of the Pulaski and Irving Park Road Metra and Blue Line El stops.  

This Arts Gala is hosted by the Irving Park United Methodist Church in conjunction with the Northwest Arts Connection.
