George C. Clark will be showing his miniature rustic twig furniture at the Fine Craft Fair on Sunday, May 2, in the Independence Park Field House in Chicago (one block east of Puliski, just south of Irving Park Rd.). Hours of the one-day event : 12:30-4:30.
Ken Gold has work in the second birdhouse exhibit hosted by August House Studio, 2113 W. Roscoe. The Return of "Birds I Have Known" opens Friday, May 7th (reception 6-9PM) and runs through May 29th.
Chicago Sculpture International has a booth at Art Chicago (#12-264), exhibiting Countercurrents, a show curated and designed by Mimi Peterson.
Countercurrents includes floor, wall and pedestal sculptures as well as a virtual gallery. The exhibit is at the Merchandise Mart until 4:00 PM Monday May 3. Eric Steel, Peter Gray, Jim MacRoberts, Mimi Peterson and Shelley Gilchrist have work in the show. Additionally, several CSI members have outdoor sculptures on the building sidewalks and grounds west of the Mart on Orleans Street through April 21.
Joan Minsky has an oil pastel show opening soon at Spex, at 2316 N. Clark. Exhibit opens May 12 (reception 5-7PM) and runs through June 23. This is part of a series called Art+Vision (info: http://spexchicago.com/events ) the Spex stores are hosting.
This is the last weekend to catch Didier Nolet's exhibit Turmoil and Peace of Mind at The Art Center in Highland Park. The show is up through May 4. Info: www.theartcenterhp.org.
