THE GREATER INDEPENDENCE PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION is bringing back the Fine Craft Fair just in time for Mother’s Day. The 7th annual FINE CRAFT FAIR is at a NEW LOCATION. 

The Abbey Pub will be our host and the pub is located in the Irving Park Neighborhood. The Abbey Pub is a fabulous space for our annual event and we are excited to merge local craft with local food & drinks. 

The Fine Craft Fair will feature original handmade craft items such as jewelry, textiles, glass, ceramics, pet products, apparel, and home accessories. With every purchase, a raffle ticket will be given to customers for a drawing at the end of the fair.  Prizes include; donated artwork from crafters and event tickets donated by the Abbey Pub. All work is original and handmade by the artisan. 


Beverages and food 
will be available for purchase at the Abbey Pub restaurant and bar.

ABG Members are part of PBS Documentary

"CHICAGO ARTISTS INTERPRET SHAKESPEARE: 
AS THEY LIKE IT"



This 5 venue exhibition is included in the upcoming PBS documentary
“Our City, Our Shakespeare”

The documentary will air on Channel 11 (WTTW) here in Chicago on:
Thursday, May 1, at 8:00 pm
 Friday, May 2, at 7:30 pm
Sunday, May 4, at 5:30 pm
Monday, May 5, at 4:30 am

The traveling exhibition of 47 artists titled
“CHICAGO ARTISTS INTERPRET  SHAKESPEARE AS THEY LIKE  IT” 

 is included in this half-hour documentary. 

Among those interviewed in the visual art segment of the documentary are 
ROBERT KAMECZURA and MAUREEN WARREN.

Also interviewed:  CHICAGO MAYOR RAHM EMMANUEL,
BARBARA GAINES, DIRECTOR of the CHICAGO SHAKESPEARE THEATER and actors,
RENEE FLEMING, SOPRANO and ARTISTIC DIRECTOR of LYRIC OPERA of CHICAGO. 

Plus segments of performances from the JOFFREY BALLET,
the CHICAGO SYMPHONY, and CHICAGO SHAKESPEARE THEATER.

George has been busy this month!

GEORGE C. CLARK will have 6 works on paper in the one-day ART SALE at the Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts at 1012 N. Dearborn Street in Chicago next Saturday, April 26, from 11am to 4pm.  Hundreds of works in many mediums will be featured, all priced at $300 or less.

George C. Clark will be showing a roomful of landscape and figure paintings and graphics in an 18 artist 2-day group exhibition at
ARTS ON ELSTON, 3446 N. Albany (at the corner of Elston Avenue 2 blocks east of Kedzie and south of Addison) in Chicago.
Gallery hours: Friday, April 25 from 6 to 10pm, and Saturday, April 26 from 4 to 8pm. Clark will be present both days.
