Write-Up Re Michelle Stone's Work at Ceres Gallery

This write-up appeared in New York Art Beat website, click here for the full web-page.

Michelle Stone, artist, Grue-some, 8" x 10", acrylic and modeling paste

"Ceres Gallery present Michelle Stone's intriguing and beautiful sculpture installation. Her constructed, abstract hybrid forms live, mutate, combine and transform themselves into a textured, colorful, menagerie of creatures and in doing so transform the gallery into a world of her creation. These engaging constructions create a primal experience as they evolve and regenerate from fragments into a community of relationships. The arrangements are unpredictable and remind one of the rhythms found in nature even though they are contained in a man-made space within the gallery walls. There is harmony as they evolve from a dark shadow side of nature and travel towards the light. Stone meanders through the cycles of growth, transformation and decay as it relates to humanity."

Jackie Moses Featured in Skokie Review

Jackie Moses has been featured in a story in the Skokie Review. Click here to read.

The artist has always been an advocate for human rights, animal rights and preserving the environment, sharing her concerns through works that frequently reflect on what the future holds if we don’t pay more attention to the way we treat people and our planet.

Moses approaches those topics in different ways in her current show at Phantom Gallery in Chicago and at one scheduled for July at Art on Armitage, a Chicago window gallery.

The Phantom Gallery show features two 54-inch by 66-inch oil paintings and five smaller works in which Moses combined photographic transfers and oil paint.
