Opportunities

Dear Illinois artist,

The Illinois Arts Council is pleased to announce that the FY09 Artists Fellowship Program guidelines and electronic application are now available from our website – www.state.il.us/agency/iac

This year applications will be accepted in the following discipline categories: interdisciplinary/computer art, music composition, photography, poetry, and visual arts.

Beginning in Fiscal Year 2009 (FY09), Illinois Arts Council (IAC) Artists Fellowship applications will be submitted online through the CueRate system. CueRate is an electronic application developed by Carnegie Mellon University Center for Arts Management and Technology for the submission and review of Artists Fellowship applications. The CueRate system enables artists to complete and submit the Artists Fellowship application via the internet. If you need assistance using CueRate, please consider attending one of the IAC Artists Fellowship/CueRate Informational Workshops being scheduled throughout the state in July and August.

You may also contact Encarnacion Teruel, Director of Visual Arts, Media Arts, and Multi-Disciplinary Programs, by telephone 312/814-6753, or email: encarnacion.teruel@illinois.gov.

Workshops will be held in the following cities: Alton, Carbondale, Champaign, Chicago, Rockford, Rock Island and Springfield. To see a schedule of Artists Fellowship/CueRate Informational Workshops visit our website – www.state.il.us/agency/iac/mtgs.htm
The application deadline for the FY09 Artists Fellowship Program is Tuesday, September 2, 2008.
