Members' news from the jaws/thaws of January

Arlene Rakoncay and Judith Roth encourage women and men artists in all media to apply to the Chicago Women's Caucus for Art exhibit Off Center, which will be held at ARC Gallery February 3-27.  Jurors are Ann Rosen and Aron Packer.  Deadline for sending images is Friday January 15th.  Artists whose work is admitted to the show must join the CWCA.  For more information, see the prospectus:  http://www.chicagowca.com/CWCA2010febprospectus.pdf

Congratulations to Beth Kamhi, whose ceramic sculpture took the 3-D first-place award in the 12th National Juried Art Exhibition at  Baker Arts Center in Liberal, Kansas.  Beth had three pieces in the show, which was juried by Chicago's own Dan Addington.  The show will be up through February 20.

James Mesple has been modest about this, but the word is out:  in December Tate Gunnerson visited James' studio and covered the interview and tour in his epub Strange Closets.  It is not to be missed:  http://www.strangeclosets.com/?p=18254.
