GEORGE C. CLARK exhibition extended

Eight watercolors from the painted-on-site "Travelers Sketchbook" series by GEORGE C. CLARK as well as two large studio landscapes are currently on exhibit at Alderman John Arena's 45th Ward Office Gallery at 4754 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. The Ward Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and the exhibition will be up until the last week of May, 2013.

George C. Clark at the Kinsey Institute Gallery



Camel Saddle, a figure painting by GEORGE C. CLARK, is currently on exhibit at the KINSEY INSTITUTE GALLERY in Morrison Hall on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington IN in a rotating show of art from the Institute's permanent collection that will be up for about six months.  The Gallery is open free to the public Mondays through Fridays from 1:30 to 5:00pm.  Find more information about the Gallery at www.kinseyinstitute.org/services/gallery.html.  An image of the painting Camel Saddle is posted on the "Drawing of the Week" feature of the artist's Not Safe For Work website at www.georgecclark.com

The Kinsey Institute is named for the groundbreaking researcher on sex, Alfred Kinsey.

George C. Clark Twig Sculptures at EAC!

GEORGE C. CLARK's miniature rustic twig furniture will be featured at the Evanston Art Center's Winter Arts & Crafts EXPO which will be open free from November 17 to December 19, 2012. The Art Center is located on the shore of Lake Michigan at 2603 Sheridan Road in Evanston, Illinois, just north of Chicago. Gallery hours are 10am to 4pm Monday through Saturday and 12 noon to 4pm Sunday (closed Thanksgiving Day). There will be a Preview Party Friday, November 16, from 6 to 9 pm. Tickets to the Preview Party are $30 in advance and $35 at the door, and they can be purchased online at www.evanstonartcenter.org.

In addition to rocking horses like the one pictured above, there will be an assortment of Clark's chairs, tables, settees and garden benches, all unique and handcrafted from Lake Michigan driftwood twigs, fibers, seed pods, shells and other natural materials. George C. Clark at Starline Gallery Harvard!

Backyards, a watercolor by GEORGE C. CLARK, will be on exhibit next Friday, August 24, at the 4th Fridays Art Event at Starline Gallery, 400 W. Front Street, Harvard, Illinois. The one-night event, which takes place from 6 to 9pm, features a juried art exhibition, a one-person show by a previous exhibition's prizewinner, a juried photography show, live music, and open studios hosted by many of the artists who have space in the Starline building. The $5 admission fee includes 2 glasses of wine or other beverage and scrumptious appetizers. These events usually attract from 500 to 700 art lovers.

The Starline building is an old brick farm implement factory that has been renovated into an art complex. Harvard is located about 70 miles northwest of Chicago, a little beyond Woodstock. It is accessible by Metra commuter train, and the Metra station is only a couple of blocks from the Starline Gallery.

George C. Clark at Morton Arboretum


GEORGE C. CLARK will be showing his miniature rustic twig furniture in a one day trunk show at the store in the Morton Arboretum, 4100 Illinois Route 53 in Lisle, IL 60532, from 11am to 3pm.  Regular Arboretum admission charges will apply.  Details and driving instructions for visiting the Arboretum can be found on the Morton Arboretum website.
